Day 1&2 – Two nights in Negombo
Start the journey from the place you landed up – Negombo is just a few kilometres ahead from Bandaranaike international airport. This place is famed for sprawling beaches so that you can rest two days gazing at the beach or relaxing by the pool of your hotel. It is a coastal hamlet that is home to friendly people, many fishing families and multi-religious people. Visit the Dutch Canal also called Hamilton Canal; which was used to be the spice trading route of the Dutch era and Negombo lagoon; which is home to an extensive range of flora and fauna.
Day 3to5–Three nights in the cultural triangle
Go in search for Sri Lanka’s ancient culture and wonders. The cultural triangle includes the ancient cities of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, and Kandy. Day 6&7 –Two nights in Dambulla
Dambulla’s world-famous cave temple is an iconic Sri Lankan symbol and world heritage site not to miss. The temple is situated on top of the 160 meters tall rock where you will find the Buddha paintings and sculptures evenly spreading among the best-preserved caves.
The miracles do not end by Dambulla but continues to Sigiriya – Known to be another world heritage of Sri Lanka. Sigiriya or Sinhagiri represents the formation of lion rock built by King Kashyapa. Sighting Sigiriya is not easy as it sounds – you will have to take the challenge by stepping towards small and sheer steps that lead to the summit of the rock citadel. From the top, you can witness the astonishing vistas of the surrounding.
Day 8&9 – Two nights in Nuwara Eliya
Renowned as the “Little England” of Sri Lanka, Nuwara Eliya is the most popular tea country of this isle.
